VOICE ANALYSIS TECHNOLOGY
T.J. Ward is the only private investigator in the country licensed to use Layered Voice Analysis (LVA) 6.50. T.J. has recently entered into a business venture with Lynn Robbins, president of Voice Analysis Technologies of Madison, Wisconsin, to offer this truth verification system to law enforcement agencies, corporate security and loss prevention divisions across the country. It's currently in use by 65 law enforcement and 12 federal agencies.
The science behind LVA is fascinating. A subject's voice and statements can be analyzed from any recorded voice conversation, such as on the phone, in a TV interview or from a deposition, to determine truthfulness and evasiveness. While a polygraph test is typically administered at the end of an investigation and only with the subject's cooperation, LVA can be used from the beginning, with or without consent. "The LVA technology certainly won't replace the polygraph, but it can significantly enhance it", T.J. said.
T.J. employed LVA during his in-depth investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, the young Alabama girl who tragically vanished two years ago in Aruba. T.J. gained national recognition as the Holloway family's private investigator, working in attempting to solve the case. He determined early on, through the use of LVA, that certain key witnesses were not forthcoming in their statements.
Although LVA is not admissable as evidence in court, it is, like a lie detector, a significant investigative tool, helping the police and investigators know when a witness is hiding something. While Natalee has not been found, T.J. has strong theories as to exactly what happened. Collaborating with Tim Miller of Equusearch, he plans to return to Aruba as the investigation continues in this open case.
"At this point, we know a lot more than we can say," T.J. said. "Having access to such revolutionary technology as Layered Voice Analysis 6.50 provides a volume of critical information that cannot, in most cases, be ascertained any other way."
